The Dietitian In Social Media

The world of technology is booming.  Why not make use of it?

In a recent article in the magazine, Today’s Dietitian, the authors discussed how nutrition professionals can use the power of social media to promote nutrition.  With millions of users on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, YouTube, and more…why not use this as a platform to expand nutritional outreach and business?

Next week begins a two week “Boot Camp” for the incoming dietetic interns for the WVU Graduate Dietetic Internship Program.  Since I am about to embark on my second year of my internship, I was asked to make a presentation on “The Dietitian in Social Media”. You can take a look at my PowerPoint presentation below…let me know what you think!

Pinterest is a pinboard-style social photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies, and more. Users can browse other pinboards for inspiration, ‘re-pin’ images to their own \or ‘like’ photos. Pinterest’s mission is to “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting”.
